Mohamed Salah believes Liverpool’s Premier League title challenge this season has a different feel to previous campaigns after their 2-0 victory over Bournemouth extended their lead at the top of the table.
The win at the Vitality Stadium moved Liverpool nine points clear, ahead of Arsenal’s crucial clash with Manchester City.
Salah played a pivotal role, scoring both goals to take his league tally to 21 for the season.
Reflecting on the title race, the Egyptian forward acknowledged the importance of staying focused.
Yeah, I think it looks a little different, but last season we were also very close,” Salah said. “But like I said before, we have to stay humble and take each game at a time.
Liverpool led the table at points last season but faltered in the final stretch, winning just three of their last eight matches and ultimately finishing third.
This time, consistency has been key, with just one league defeat so far, placing them in a strong position to claim their second title since 1990.
In previous seasons under former manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool often found themselves battling Manchester City until the final day.
But with City showing signs of vulnerability and Arsenal struggling for consistency, Liverpool’s title prospects appear increasingly promising.
Salah’s contribution has been instrumental, with the forward reaching the 20-goal mark in five of his eight seasons at Anfield.
However, his focus remains on collective success.
It feels good to score goals, the team wins, it’s unbelievable,” Salah said. “But my main goal this season is to win the Premier League with the team.
The 31-year-old also praised goalkeeper Alisson for his vital contribution, highlighting the Brazilian’s key save against Bournemouth.

Liverpool currently boast the league’s best defensive record, having conceded just 21 goals—level with Arsenal.
Against Bournemouth, Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Cody Gakpo was fouled by Lewis Cook.
The Cherries, unbeaten in 12 matches across all competitions, thought they had equalised, only for their goal to be ruled out for offside.
Salah then secured the victory with a clinical finish, underlining Liverpool’s growing momentum in the title race.
