Anas El Mahraoui swaps Russia for MAS Fes in €100k loan move

Morocco winger Anas El Mahraoui has joined MAS Fes from Akhmat Grozny on loan for a fee of €100,000, completing a move that takes him back to Moroccan football. The 25-year-old has signed for the Botola Pro Inwi club on a deal running until 30 June 2027.

El Mahraoui arrives after spending the first part of the 2026-27 season with Akhmat Grozny in Russia’s Premier Liga. He had not made an appearance for the club before switching to MAS Fes on 12 August, and will now continue his career in Morocco.

The left winger is a right-footed attacker who stands 1.73m tall. He was born in Sale and developed his senior career in Moroccan football before moving abroad, representing US Sale, Kenitra and COD Meknes.

El Mahraoui joined Akhmat Grozny from COD Meknes in September 2025 for €600,000. He subsequently spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Orenburg, returning to Akhmat at the end of June before completing his latest move.

His time at Orenburg came after his first season with Akhmat, while the Russian club’s most recent competitive record also includes domestic Premier Liga and Russian Cup football. The move to MAS Fes therefore brings the winger back to the country where he began his professional career.

El Mahraoui has also represented Morocco and was part of the side that won the African Nations Championship in the 2024-25 season. That is the midfielder’s only listed international achievement.

MAS Fes will have El Mahraoui for the 2026-27 season, with the agreement scheduled to end on 30 June 2027. The transfer is structured as a loan, while his parent club remains Akhmat Grozny.

Before joining Akhmat, El Mahraoui spent two seasons with COD Meknes after moving there from US Sale on a free transfer in August 2023. His earlier career also included spells with Kenitra and US Sale.

The completed agreement gives MAS Fes a Moroccan winger with experience in both the Botola Pro Inwi and Russian football. El Mahraoui has now officially joined the Fes club on loan from Akhmat Grozny for €100,000.
