Mathew Gbomadu: Nigerian striker joins Dinamo Tbilisi from Estrela Amadora

Dinamo Tbilisi have signed Nigeria forward Mathew Gbomadu from Portuguese side Estrela Amadora. The 21-year-old centre-forward has agreed a deal with the Georgian club running until June 2027.

Gbomadu, a left-footed attacker who stands at 1.81m, moves to the Erovnuli Liga after a spell in Liga Portugal, where he was on the books at Estrela Amadora. He arrives with a market valuation of €200,000 and will wear the number 17 shirt for his new club.

Before his switch to Portugal in February 2026, Gbomadu built his reputation in Armenia with Ararat-Armenia. There he enjoyed a productive spell that brought team honours, helping the club win the Armenian championship in the 2025-26 season and the Armenian Cup in 2023-24.

His time in Armenian football also included a loan spell at FC Van during the 2023-24 campaign, after which he returned to Ararat-Armenia before eventually earning his move to Estrela Amadora. Gbomadu had previously joined Ararat-Armenia on a free transfer from FDC Vista in 2023.

Across domestic league and cup competitions and European qualifying ties, Gbomadu has accumulated more than 80 senior appearances, including 68 in the top flight and outings in UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying. He has registered 11 goals and nine assists in league action, averaging a goal roughly every 210 minutes.

Gbomadu’s transfer, completed on 22 July 2026, sees him become the latest addition to Dinamo Tbilisi’s attack as he begins a new chapter in Georgian football under a contract through to the end of the 2026-27 season.
