Nigerian striker Gift Orban has emerged as a prime target for the French club, according to reports from reputable sources.

Vitinha, a 23-year-old Portuguese striker, has faced scrutiny and varied opinions during his tenure at OM.

The latest reports suggest that OM president Pablo Longoria is considering offloading Vitinha during the upcoming winter transfer window, with an aim to recoup a portion of the €25 million investment made in the player a year ago.

Despite Vitinha’s four goals and two assists in 21 matches this season, OM seems open to parting ways with the player.

In the event of Vitinha’s departure, Gift Orban, a 21-year-old striker from La Gantoise, is reportedly on the radar of OM. The Nigerian player created waves in the transfer market last summer but ultimately stayed with the Belgian club.

Eintracht Frankfurt is also said to have an interest in Orban for the winter transfer window, as per information from Marseille Mercato.

Orban made a significant impact in the previous season, scoring 20 goals in 22 matches.

His goal-scoring prowess has continued this season with an impressive tally of 12 goals in 26 matches. According to Transfermarkt, Orban’s market value stands at €20 million, potentially making him an attractive prospect for OM. However, negotiations might prove challenging, given that Orban’s contract with La Gantoise extends until 2027.

Marseille will likely face competition and scrutiny regarding the financial terms of the potential transfer, as they seek to bolster their attacking options with the promising Nigerian talent.
