Al Ahly have made it clear they won’t let star striker Wessam Abu Ali leave unless the price is right.
Despite receiving three official offers, from the United States, Qatari side Al Rayyan, and Emirati club Al Wasl, the club insists none meet their $10 million valuation.
An official source told Kooora that Al Rayyan’s bid of $7.5 million plus $1 million in add-ons is currently the best on the table. Friendly interest has also come from Qatari teams Al Sadd and Al Wakrah, but no formal approaches have been made yet.
Abu Ali is considered vital to Al Ahly’s plans, and the club is in no rush to offload him. Still, the source hinted that strong interest and the player’s own wishes might influence a decision.
Meanwhile, the team is set for an intensive preseason camp in Tabarka, Tunisia. Training begins July 14 in Cairo before flying out on July 18. Al Ahly will play friendlies against US Constantine (July 21), Esperance (July 25), and Etoile Sahel (July 28).
