Zinedine Zidane is preparing to name the France squad for the November international break, with Inter forward Marcus Thuram reported to be the leading candidate for a return.
France will face Italy and Turkey in their fifth and sixth Group A matches of the UEFA Nations League.
French radio station RMC Sport has identified the main players being considered for the squad, with Thuram at the top of the list.
The 28-year-old Inter striker has been monitored as France assess their options for the upcoming fixtures and is viewed as the strongest contender among those hoping to rejoin the national team.
Tottenham winger Mathys Tel is also under consideration, while Ely Junior Kroupi remains on the coaching staff’s radar.
Florian Thauvin is another possible inclusion, although his age could work against him. The 33-year-old has been included among the players under consideration but faces a potential obstacle in his bid to return to the France squad.
Ousmane Dembele and Esteban Lepaul are expected to miss out because of injuries.
Kylian Mbappe, however, is set to return after being absent from France’s previous gathering.
France are top of Group A with 10 points, having recorded three wins and one draw.
