Mamelodi Sundowns weigh further moves for Kodisang, February and Tiwani

Mamelodi Sundowns could see three more players leave the club before the transfer window closes, with Kobamelo Kodisang, goalkeeper Jody February and Asekho Tiwani all facing uncertain futures.

The African champions have already parted ways with Miguel Reisinho and Peter Shalulile during the current transfer period. Terrence Mashego, Jody Ah Shene, Aphelele Teto and Neo Maema are also expected to spend another season away from the club on loan.

Kodisang is the latest player linked with a possible departure. The winger is set to leave Sundowns again this season, with another loan move among the options being considered.

The 25-year-old is currently training away from the club’s first team, alongside Monnapule Saleng. Kodisang’s representatives are understood to be working on an agreement to secure his next move, although the final destination has not been confirmed.

February’s position at Sundowns has also become more complicated following the return of Ricardo Goss. The goalkeeper signed a new contract during the second half of last season, but Goss’s return has reduced his prospects of regular playing time in the campaign ahead.

February did not make an official appearance for Sundowns last season. A move before the end of the window has therefore not been ruled out, with the club’s goalkeeping situation likely to influence the player’s decision and any potential negotiations.

Tiwani could also leave on loan before the transfer deadline. The junior international spent the second half of last season with Stellenbosch FC, and another temporary move is now being considered.

The defender was recently involved in the national under-23 team selection camp, but indications are that he may continue his development away from Sundowns rather than remain with the first-team squad.

Sundowns’ planning for the new season has already led to a number of changes within the squad. Reisinho and Shalulile have departed permanently, while Mashego, Ah Shene, Teto and Maema are expected to continue their development elsewhere for another campaign.

The possible exits of Kodisang, February and Tiwani would further reduce the number of players competing for places at Sundowns before the transfer window closes. Their situations remain open, with decisions still expected in the coming weeks.
