Mamelodi Sundowns to host USM Alger in CAF Super Cup final

Mamelodi Sundowns will face USM Alger in the 2026 CAF Super Cup final in South Africa on Sunday, 8 November, the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced.

The match will be played in Tshwane at 15:00 local time, which is 13:00 GMT, with the two clubs meeting after winning Africa’s leading club competitions.

Mamelodi Sundowns secured their second CAF Champions League title by overcoming Moroccan side AS FAR. Their latest triumph came 10 years after they claimed their first continental crown.

Miguel Cardoso’s side established a narrow advantage in the first leg, winning 1-0 in Tshwane. They then held AS FAR to a 1-1 draw in Morocco to complete their victory and become champions of Africa.

USM Alger, meanwhile, lifted the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Egyptian club Zamalek SC 8-7 on penalties. The Algerian side had won the first leg 1-0 after Ahmed Khaldi scored a late penalty.

Zamalek SC responded by winning the return fixture 1-0 at home, forcing the tie to be decided from the spot. USM Alger prevailed in the shootout to claim their second title in the competition.
