Senegalese forward Mame Thiam returns to training ahead of Çorum FK promotion push
Senegalese striker Mame Thiam has returned to training with Çorum FK after recovering from an injury that sidelined him for two league matches.
The forward had been forced off during the first half of his side’s 30th matchday encounter against Boluspor after sustaining a knee problem.
Following initial treatment, Thiam travelled to Spain to continue his rehabilitation programme before making his return to Turkey.
According to reports in the Turkish media, the Senegal international has now regained full fitness and has rejoined team training.
His comeback is expected to be handled with care, as the club’s technical staff aim to avoid any setback after his recent recovery.
The timing of his return could prove significant for Çorum FK, who are preparing for the promotion playoffs set to begin on 7 May.
The decisive fixtures will determine which teams secure a place in the Turkish top flight, making squad fitness a key factor in the closing stages of the campaign.
Thiam’s influence since joining the club has been notable. Signed from Eyüpspor during the winter transfer window, he quickly established himself as a central figure in the attack.
In just 14 appearances, the striker has scored nine goals and provided two assists, underlining his importance to the team’s ambitions.
His return offers renewed optimism for Çorum FK as they look to maintain momentum and strengthen their bid for promotion.
With crucial matches approaching, the club will be keen to ensure that Thiam regains full match sharpness while preserving his fitness for the demanding fixtures ahead.
