Mamau joins CD St. Amalia on free transfer from L’Escala
Spain and The Gambia centre-back Mamau has joined CD St. Amalia from L’Escala on a free transfer, adding an experienced defender to the club’s squad for the 2026-27 season.
The 32-year-old, who was born in Girona, completed the move on 3 September 2026 after one season with L’Escala. He had joined that club from CE L’Hospitalet in September 2025, also on a free transfer.
Mamau has spent his career playing in Spain and has moved between a number of clubs without a transfer fee. Before arriving at L’Escala, he represented CE L’Hospitalet, CD Toledo, Terrassa FC, Arandina, Villanovense, CE Jupiter, CD Don Benito, Palamos CF and UE La Jonquera.
He began his senior career with UE La Jonquera after coming through Girona’s under-19 system. He later spent a season with UE Figueres before returning to Girona FC B, then continued his career across the Spanish lower divisions.
The defender’s previous recorded campaigns include appearances in Segunda Federacion, 2a B and the Copa del Rey. He made two Copa del Rey appearances and also scored once in 14 league appearances in 2a B – Grupo IV. His career record also includes spells in Segunda Federacion – Grupo III and Grupo V, as well as the promotion play-offs for Segunda Federacion.
Mamau’s arrival gives CD St. Amalia a player with experience across several levels of the Spanish game. He has primarily operated at centre-back, the position in which he is listed for his new club.
The move continues a run of free transfers for Mamau, who has not changed clubs for a fee since the available record of his career began. His most recent switch marks his latest move within Spain and brings him to CD St. Amalia for the first time.
Mamau has signed a contract with CD St. Amalia until 30 June 2027.
