Maloisane Mokhele confident of swift return after Siwelele exit

Maloisane Mokhele says he is confident of returning to professional football soon after becoming a free agent following his departure from Siwelele.

The 29-year-old winger is currently without a club after Siwelele decided not to take up their option on him at the end of the season. Mokhele has returned to his home in the Free State, where he is maintaining his fitness while waiting for his next opportunity.

“I’m at home in the Free State and training on my own,” said Mokhele.

He confirmed that several clubs have shown interest in signing him, although no move has progressed far enough for him to disclose the identities of the teams involved.

“There’s been some interest from a couple of clubs, but nothing concrete at the moment, so I can’t mention names.”

Despite the uncertainty over his future, Mokhele believes a solution will be found soon. He also stressed that he remains physically prepared to resume his career as soon as an agreement is reached.

“The one thing I know is that things will work out soon. I’m fit and ready. That’s what matters at this stage.”

Mokhele previously played for Botswana side Matebele before returning to South Africa and joining Siwelele during the second half of the past season.

His spell with Siwelele ended when the club chose not to exercise its option to retain him, leaving the former Siwelele and Magesi player searching for a new team.

Mokhele remains optimistic that his period without a club will be short-lived and is hoping to secure a return to competitive football in the near future.

“I hope I will be back soon. I’m hopeful,” he added.
