Mali international Haidara emerges on Hull City’s transfer radar

Hull City are monitoring RC Lens midfielder Amadou Haidara, although the English club have yet to make a formal offer for the 28-year-old.

Haidara joined Lens last winter from RB Leipzig after spending nine years within the Red Bull football network. The Mali international adapted quickly to life in northern France and remains under contract with the Sang et Or until June 2029.

Since moving to Artois, Haidara has made 11 appearances for Lens, scoring once and providing one assist. He has also added two honours to his medal collection, winning the Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions.

The midfielder has considerable experience at international level, having won 48 caps for Mali. His background in the Bundesliga and his time with the Mali national team have helped establish him as an experienced player, despite the competition for places in the Lens midfield.

Haidara has not yet secured a regular starting position at Lens, largely because of the strength of competition in the centre of the team. However, his performances and experience mean he continues to attract interest in the transfer market.

According to Foot Mercato, Hull City are paying close attention to Haidara’s situation and are particularly attracted to his playing profile. The English club have a history of showing interest in French-speaking players who have developed their careers in France.

No concrete bid has been submitted at this stage, but the situation could develop over the coming days. Haidara is currently valued at about 5m euros by Transfermarkt.

Lens will soon face AJ Auxerre in their opening match of the French league season. Ahead of that fixture, betting company 1xbet lists AJ Auxerre at 5.75 to win, with a draw priced at 4.30 and a Lens victory at 1.57.
