Mehdi Oubeid Charaf, the official of the Federal Arbitration Committee, has revealed details of the preparations for the adoption of the VAR technology in the upcoming season.
Speaking exclusively to “El Nahar” on Tuesday, Charaf stated, “Regarding VAR, it will be implemented next season, but I do not know when.
Perhaps it will be in the first round, or in the 10th or 20th round, the matches that can be broadcasted by public television. We can rely on VAR in those matches.”
Charaf emphasized, “We are in the process of preparing all the means and capabilities to ensure the correct use of the technology. Regarding refereeing errors, they exist in the biggest European leagues.”
He also commented on the recent controversial decision made by referee Boukouassa, saying, “Boukouassa did not use public television in his decision to annul a penalty kick for MC Alger.”
