Lamin Darboe: Gambia striker joins Calahorra after spell without a club

Gambia striker Lamin Darboe has joined Calahorra, completing a move to the Spanish club on 31 August 2026 after a spell without a club.

The 21-year-old forward is listed as a striker and becomes part of Calahorra’s attacking options for the 2026-27 season. No transfer fee has been recorded for the move, and the length of Darboe’s contract has not been disclosed.

Darboe’s most recent named club was Atl. Cirbonero, whom he left in January 2026. Before that, he joined Atl. Cirbonero from CD Cortes in July 2025 on a free transfer.

The Gambian previously played for CD Cortes after leaving G.Berriak U19 in July 2024. His move to Calahorra therefore marks a return to club football after the period that followed his departure from Atl. Cirbonero.

Darboe has featured in both league and cup competition during the current campaign. He has made six appearances in Promocion a 2a Federacion, playing 507 minutes, and has added one appearance in the Copa del Rey, where he played 25 minutes.

His arrival gives Calahorra a forward with experience of football in Spain’s lower divisions and adds another available option in attack. The club’s records identify Darboe’s main role as being in the attacking area, with the player specifically registered as a striker.

Darboe was born on 1 January 2005 and is an international player from The Gambia. His move to Calahorra was registered on 31 August 2026, with the club now listed as his current side.

The transfer follows a short sequence of changes in the striker’s club career. After beginning with G.Berriak U19, he moved to CD Cortes, then spent time with Atl. Cirbonero before leaving that club at the start of 2026. Calahorra is his latest destination.

Darboe has now joined Calahorra after becoming available without a club, completing his move on 31 August 2026.
