Kylian Mbappé is setting sail into the world of high-speed racing.

The Real Madrid forward has become a key investor in the French team competing in the SailGP series, an elite international championship featuring F50 catamarans.

His financial backing comes through Coalition Capital, the fund that acquired French club Cannes last summer. Additionally, his charitable foundation, Inspired by KM, is now an official partner of the France SailGP team.

“We are delighted to embark on this new adventure with the French team SailGP, with the support of Accor (one of the world leaders in hotel) and other investors.”

“I am also proud that Inspired by KM has the opportunity to involve more young people from around the world in this project. Thanks to Inspired by KM, I wish to reach young people around the world and give them the means to believe in their dreams,” Mbappé stated.

SailGP, founded in 2019 by Sir Russell Coutts and Oracle founder Larry Ellison, features 12 national teams racing identical 15-meter catamarans that can hit speeds of 100 km/h.
