KuPS v Trabzonspor tickets sell out as Salah’s involvement remains uncertain

Tickets for KuPS’s Conference League match against Trabzonspor on 15 October have sold out, with supporters awaiting confirmation over whether Salah will feature for the Turkish side.

The match has attracted additional attention in Finland because of uncertainty surrounding Salah’s availability. He was absent from Egypt’s most recent fixture against South Sudan, which was played on an artificial surface.

Turkish website 61saat reported that the game will take place at Tammela Stadium in Tampere, rather than KuPS’s usual home ground. The venue change was required because KuPS’s stadium uses an artificial pitch and does not meet the relevant UEFA requirements for the fixture.

The match in Tampere will also be played on artificial turf, prompting Finnish media and supporters to question whether Salah will be involved.

Assessments in Finland suggest that the Egyptian’s situation may not be explained solely by the playing surface. Salah has previously played matches on artificial pitches without suffering injuries, while artificial surfaces at stadiums in Finland meet UEFA standards.

The complete sell-out has increased anticipation ahead of the contest, with supporters waiting to discover whether Salah will appear at Tammela Stadium on 15 October.

Salah joined Trabzonspor at the start of the current season after his contract with Liverpool came to an end.
