Kingsley Ehizibue: Netherlands-Nigeria defender linked with surprise Turin Weitere move

Netherlands-Nigeria right-back Kingsley Ehizibue, currently without a club after leaving Udinese, is being linked with a move to Italian side Turin Weitere as the 31-year-old weighs up his next step in Serie A. The free agent, valued at around €2m as of late May, is understood to be on the radar of the Turin outfit as they explore experienced defensive options for the new campaign.

Ehizibue officially departed Udinese at the start of July after four seasons in Italy’s top flight, where he made 115 Serie A appearances and contributed four goals and two assists. His availability on a free transfer is thought to be a key factor in Turin Weitere’s interest, with the club assessing low-cost reinforcements who are already accustomed to the league’s demands.

Born in Munich and standing at 1.89m, Ehizibue built his reputation as a right-back capable of operating consistently at top-flight level across several major European leagues. Before moving to Udinese in 2022, he had spells in the Bundesliga with 1. FC Koln and in the Eredivisie with PEC Zwolle, amassing more than 120 league appearances in the Dutch top tier.

Ehizibue’s most sustained run of games came in the Netherlands, where he totalled 122 Eredivisie outings, scoring eight times and providing 15 assists. That experience, combined with regular minutes in Serie A, has made him an attractive option for clubs seeking an immediate, ready-made solution on the right side of defence.

For now, Ehizibue remains unattached following the expiry of his deal at Udinese, leaving him free to negotiate directly with interested clubs as talks over a potential switch to Turin Weitere continue.
