Al Ahly has officially informed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that Khaled Mortagy, the club’s Acting Vice President and Treasurer, will serve as its representative in the newly formed African Clubs League.
This move aligns with the structure of the North African Clubs Association, which ensures the participation of representatives from Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly and Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in CAF’s framework this year.
The association follows a rotational system, allowing different clubs to have their voices heard annually in the African football governing body’s discussions.
According to Kooora, Khaled Abdel Qader, a former member of Al Ahly’s Football Company, previously held the role but stepped down following the restructuring of the company’s council.
Mahmoud Al Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, has since put forward Khaled Mortagy’s name to take over responsibilities in the African Clubs Association, ensuring the club maintains a strong presence in shaping the future of continental football.
