Nigeria outfit Kano Pillars have announced the appointment of former Nigeria captain Ahmed Musah, as their new General Manager.
Musah is embarking on his maiden administrative role in football and is set to bring his expertise to the club, with the aim of fostering professionalism and achieving success.
This move comes as part of the Kano State government’s initiative to overhaul the club’s structure and strengthen its position ahead of the new season.
Musa’s appointment marks the return of a big-name figure to the club’s leadership, boosting fans’ hopes for success in the upcoming campaign.
The 32-year-old returned to the Nigeria Premier league last season, netting 10 goals in 23 appearances as Kano Pillars finished ninth in the top-flight.
He has had an illustrious career, featuring for top clubs across the globe including Leicester City, CSKA Moscow, Sivasspor and others.
Having played football to the highest level, Kano Pillars is hopeful that the former Nigeria captain’s appointment will contribute significantly to the club’s growth and achievements.
Meanwhile, his appointment as the new general manager of the Premier League club could mark his retirement from professional football.
It is worth noting that Musa holds the record for most appearances for the Nigerian national team (111) and is among the top scorers in Super Eagles history with 18 goals.
