Ricardo Kaka has sent a message to AC Milan supporters ahead of Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter, a fixture that holds particular significance for the Brazilian former player.
Kaka scored his first goal for Milan against Inter in October 2003, helping the Rossoneri to a 3-2 victory. He will hope the derby brings another positive result when the sides meet in the 10th round of the Italian league on 31 October 2026.
The match will also mark a special occasion for Kaka away from the pitch. Before kick-off, Milan will honour him with an induction into the club’s Hall of Fame. He is due to receive his award in front of a full San Siro.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Milan posted a video on its official social media accounts featuring Kaka delivering what the club described as a “love letter” to the passionate derby. A second clip showed the former midfielder greeting supporters in the street.
In his message, Kaka said: “Dear Milan fans, the derby will remain engraved in my memory, and scoring my first goal in it was truly a unique feeling. Some magical moments are never forgotten, and some kinds of love never end.”
He finished with the words: “Forza Milan!”
The meeting comes with Inter top of the Italian league on 25 points. Milan are fifth with 18 points.
Kaka joined Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003 and quickly became an important figure for the club, although the source article specifically highlights his October 2003 goal against Inter as his first for the Rossoneri. That match ended with Milan claiming a 3-2 win, adding further significance to his appearance in the build-up to this latest derby.
Saturday’s ceremony means Kaka’s relationship with Milan will be recognised before the two sides contest one of European football’s most prominent local rivalries. The Hall of Fame presentation will take place with the San Siro stands filled, before attention turns to a match carrying important points for both clubs.
