Kaizer Chiefs to host two league games at Royal Bafokeng Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs will stage two of their upcoming home league fixtures at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, with a further match against Chippa United scheduled to take place at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo.
The Soweto club are due to welcome Siwelele FC to the Rustenburg venue on Saturday, 5 September, according to the Premier Soccer League’s official website.
Fernando Da Cruz’s side will return to Royal Bafokeng Stadium later in the year for another league fixture, this time against TS Galaxy on Tuesday, 15 December.
The venue was recently used by Chiefs for their Toyota Cup match against Zimbabwean side Scottland on 26 July. That fixture marked another occasion on which the Glamour Boys took a home game away from their usual base.
Amakhosi will also move one of their league matches to Limpopo in the new year. Chippa United, known as the Chilli Boys, are scheduled to visit Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 23 January 2027.
The remainder of Chiefs’ home fixtures are listed to be played at FNB Stadium, the PSL website says.
The club have not yet released an update explaining their plans to host matches in North West and Limpopo. Despite that, the relevant fixtures have already been amended on the league’s schedule.
The two games at Royal Bafokeng Stadium will give Chiefs an opportunity to take their league campaign to Rustenburg again after their Toyota Cup meeting with Scottland. The stadium was one of the venues used during the 2010 World Cup.
Chiefs’ forthcoming home programme therefore includes fixtures at three different stadiums: FNB Stadium, Royal Bafokeng Stadium and Peter Mokaba Stadium. The dates and venues currently reflected by the PSL include the September meeting with Siwelele FC, the December clash with TS Galaxy and the January 2027 encounter with Chippa United.
No further details have been provided by Kaizer Chiefs about whether the changes are temporary arrangements or part of a wider home-match plan. For now, the league’s published schedule remains the clearest indication of where the matches will be played.
Chiefs’ match against Scottland in the Toyota Cup was their most recent outing at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, while their next confirmed league appearance there will come against Siwelele FC on 5 September. Their second Rustenburg fixture, against TS Galaxy, is set for 15 December before the club’s scheduled trip to Limpopo for the Chippa United match in January 2027.
