Kaizer Chiefs send five players out on loan for the season

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that five players, including first-team squad members Samkelo Zwane and Bontle Molefe, will spend the season on loan at clubs in South Africa.

Zwane and goalkeeper Molefe will join Cape Town-based Hope FC, where they will compete in the Motsepe Foundation League under the auspices of the PSL.

The club also announced that Academy players Ofentse Kgosana and Vicky Mkhawana will move to Real Natives, while Sfiso Simba will spend the campaign with Gomora FC.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the moves in a brief statement on Tuesday morning, following the initial report by iDiski Times.

The two senior players will be based in Cape Town for the duration of their loan spells. Hope FC’s participation in the Motsepe Foundation League will provide the setting for both Zwane and Molefe to gain playing experience away from the Chiefs squad.

Kgosana and Mkhawana will join Real Natives in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga. The club was formerly known as Casric Stars. Simba, meanwhile, will remain in Gauteng after agreeing to spend the season at Gomora FC.

The moves involve two players from Kaizer Chiefs’ senior squad and three members of the club’s Youth Development Academy.

“Kaizer Chiefs can confirm that two senior players and three from the Youth Development Academy have secured loan moves to gain valuable experience at various different clubs.

“Midfielder, Samkelo Zwane and goalkeeper, Bontle Molefe – both members of the senior squad – will spend this season at Cape Town-based Hope FC, where they will compete in the Motsepe Foundation League under the auspices of the PSL.

“In addition, three promising talents from the Academy have also been sent out on loan. Ofentse Kgosana and Vicky Mkhawana join Real Natives (formerly Casric Stars) in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, for the season, while Sfiso Simba will remain in Gauteng to spend the campaign at Gomora FC.”

The announcement confirms the destinations for all five players for the current campaign. Zwane and Molefe are the only members of the senior squad included in the group, with Kgosana, Mkhawana and Simba all making temporary moves from the Academy.

Hope FC will be the destination for both senior players, while the three Academy prospects have been distributed between Real Natives and Gomora FC. Kgosana and Mkhawana will spend the season together at Real Natives, with Simba joining Gomora FC in Gauteng.

The loan moves are intended to give the players valuable experience at other clubs during the season, while keeping each player within the South African football structure.
