Kabore returns to action as Wrexham suffer Birmingham defeat

Issa Kabore made his first appearance for Wrexham since completing a permanent move to the club as the Burkina Faso right-back returned to competitive action against Birmingham City.

The 23-year-old came on in the 71st minute, marking his first minutes in a Wrexham shirt since his move was made permanent. His introduction came during a match which ended in disappointment for the Welsh club, who were beaten 2-1 by Birmingham City.

Kabore’s appearance was the main individual milestone from Wrexham’s latest fixture. The Burkina Faso international had not featured for the club since arriving on a permanent basis, but was given an opportunity to play in the closing stages against Birmingham.

The right-back entered the contest with Wrexham trailing, although his side was unable to change the outcome before the final whistle. Birmingham held on to secure a 2-1 victory, leaving Wrexham on the wrong side of a close scoreline.

For Kabore, the match represented the beginning of a new stage at the club. While he had previously been associated with Wrexham, this was his first appearance since the transfer was completed permanently. His late introduction provided the clearest indication yet of his return to the team.

The defender’s involvement lasted from the 71st minute until the end of the match. Although he was unable to prevent Wrexham from losing, the outing gave him his first competitive game time since joining the club on a permanent deal.

Kabore is an international player for Burkina Faso and operates primarily at right-back. His return will be of interest to both Wrexham and his national side, although the immediate outcome was a defeat against Birmingham City.

Wrexham’s performance produced a narrow margin between the teams, with Birmingham winning by a single goal. The 2-1 result meant that Kabore’s first appearance following his permanent arrival was not accompanied by a positive result for the club.

Nevertheless, his involvement ended a period without playing time for the defender and confirmed that he is now back on the pitch for Wrexham. After entering as a substitute in the 71st minute, Kabore completed his first appearance since the permanent transfer, while Birmingham City claimed the points with a 2-1 win.
