Junior Olaitan’s Besiktas form attracts interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs
Junior Olaitan has emerged as a transfer target for clubs in England and Germany after making a strong impression since joining Besiktas.
According to Turkish newspaper Fotomac, several Premier League and Bundesliga sides are monitoring the 24-year-old Beninese midfielder and could make a move during the winter transfer window.
Olaitan joined Besiktas from Goztepe in the last winter transfer window for about 5 million euros. He has since established himself as an important member of the Istanbul club’s squad.
His performances in the Europa League have increased his profile, with Olaitan scoring against Crystal Palace. He has directly contributed to six goals in the competition this season and has also provided two assists in the Turkish league.
Those numbers have highlighted his progress and attracted the attention of scouts from outside Turkey. Fotomac reports that clubs from both England and Germany are now following his situation closely.
Besiktas hold strong negotiating position
Olaitan’s estimated market value is currently 12 million euros, although that figure could change depending on his performances in the coming months.
Besiktas are in a favourable position should interest develop into formal offers. Olaitan is under contract with the club until 2029, with the agreement also containing an option for an additional year.
That long-term deal could give Besiktas significant leverage in any negotiations over the midfielder, who only moved to the club from Goztepe during the previous winter transfer window.
The next opportunity for Olaitan to strengthen his reputation will come when Besiktas face Istanbul Basaksehir in the ninth round of the Turkish league.
