Jean-Matteo Bahoya joins Leeds as France-Cameroon winger arrives from Frankfurt

France-Cameroon winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya has joined Leeds from Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, adding a 21-year-old left-sided attacker to the Premier League club’s squad.

Bahoya’s move was completed on 1 September 2026, with the loan agreement running until 30 June 2027. The winger’s registration at Leeds is in place until the end of the loan period, while his parent club remains Frankfurt.

The Montfermeil-born player operates primarily on the left wing and is right-footed. He is 1.80m tall and holds French and Cameroonian nationality.

Bahoya joined Frankfurt from Angers SCO in January 2024 in a permanent transfer worth €8m. He had progressed into Angers’ senior structure after previously playing for the club’s reserve and under-17 sides.

His arrival gives Leeds a player with experience of German football, following his spell in Frankfurt’s squad across the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. The move also takes him into the Premier League for the first time, with Leeds becoming the third senior club of his career.

Bahoya’s current market value is €25m, a figure that places him among the more valuable young players in Leeds’ squad, although no permanent transfer fee has been attached to the loan move.

The winger’s agreement at Leeds concludes on 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Frankfurt. His latest transfer represents a temporary switch between clubs in two of Europe’s leading leagues, moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League for the 2026-27 campaign.

Bahoya joined the German club after establishing himself at Angers, where he made the step from the club’s development system into senior football. His move to Leeds now marks the next stage of his career, with the English club securing his services for the duration of the loan.

The 21-year-old completed his move to Leeds on loan from Frankfurt on 1 September 2026.
