Ismaily in crisis ahead of Petroject clash

Egyptian side Ismaily SC have been dealt a devastating blow ahead of their crucial league fixture, with eleven players set to miss the crucial game against Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League relegation phase.

The two sides are set to meet on Tuesday evening in the seventh round of the relegation stage of the competition, but Ismaily head into the encounter in a severely weakened state as they continue to battle for survival.

The Dervishes currently sit bottom of the relegation standings with 14 points, while Petrojet are far more comfortable in fifth place with 34 points, highlighting the scale of the challenge facing the struggling club.

According to an official statement, Ismaily will be without a large chunk of their squad due to both injuries and suspensions, leaving the technical staff with limited options for such a decisive fixture.

The injury list includes Mohamed Ammar, Abdullah Mohamed, Mohamed Abdel Samie, Abdel Rahman El Dah, Marwan Hamdi, Hassan Mansour, Ahmed Adel Abdel Moneim, and Mohamed Khatari—all ruled out due to various fitness concerns.

In addition, Abdul Karim Mustafa, Khaled Al-Nabrisi, and Ibrahim Abdul Aal will miss the match through suspension, further compounding the team’s selection problems.

Despite the setback, midfielder Mohamed Hassan is reportedly struggling with adductor muscle pain but has insisted on being part of the squad, demonstrating the urgency and determination within the Ismaily camp as they fight to avoid further damage in their relegation battle.

The crisis comes at a critical stage of the season, with Ismaily’s survival hopes hanging in the balance. The club, one of Egypt’s historic football names, now faces the daunting task of reshuffling its lineup and finding solutions from a depleted squad.

As pressure mounts, Tuesday’s clash against Petrojet is shaping up to be a defining moment in their campaign—one that could either offer a lifeline or deepen their struggles at the bottom of the table.
