Isayas Jira Bosho re-elected as Ethiopian Football Federation president

Isayas Jira Bosho has been re-elected president of the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) for a further four-year term.

Bosho was the only candidate in Tuesday’s election and received 81 of the 88 votes cast by the federation’s Assembly. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the European Economic Commission in Addis-Ababa.

First elected in 2018, Bosho will now begin his third consecutive term in office, which is due to run until 2030.

“I thank all the members of the Assembly for their confidence. Let us work together to improve football in Ethiopia,” Jira Bosho said after the result.

His re-election reflects the confidence placed in him by members of the Assembly. During his time as president, he has played a significant role in strengthening and developing football in Ethiopia, with particular emphasis on the sport’s growth and creating firmer foundations for the future of the national game.

The elective Assembly was also attended by Hassan Suleiman Waberi, president of the Djiboutian Football Federation and a member of the FIFA Council.
