Inter look to send Issiaka Kamate on loan to Palermo with buy-back protection

Inter Milan are in advanced talks with Palermo over a deal that would see midfielder Issiaka Kamate move to Sicily on loan with an option to buy, while the Italian champions seek to retain a buy-back clause to control his long-term future.

Transfer specialist Nicolo Schira reports that discussions between the two clubs are focused on a season-long loan arrangement, giving Palermo the right to make the move permanent at the end of the spell.

Inter’s hierarchy, however, are pushing to include a priority buy-back clause, ensuring they can re-sign Kamate should he develop as hoped during his time in Serie B or beyond with the Sicilian side.

Inter planning pathway for Franco-Ivorian prospect

Kamate, a 21-year-old Franco-Ivorian midfielder, is under contract with Inter until 2029, underlining the faith the Nerazzurri have in his potential.

The proposed move is designed to offer him regular first-team football at Palermo while maintaining a long-term connection to the Lombardy club, who would be able to monitor his progress closely under the terms being discussed.

For Kamate, the switch would represent an opportunity to gain “precious” game time at senior level, something that has been limited so far in his career at Inter, where competition for midfield places is intense.

Under the framework currently being negotiated, Palermo would take Kamate on loan and hold an option to purchase him outright at the end of the loan period.
