Intense Turkish-Greek rivalry for Algerian star Youcef Atal
According to a report by French website “Foot Mercato” on Saturday, Adana Demirspor is racing against time to secure a new three-year contract for Atal after his previous deal with the club expired.
However, the player has shown reluctance to renew his contract with Adana Demirspor.
The same source revealed that last season’s Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray, have placed Atal second on their list of transfer targets this summer.
The club is keen to bolster its squad and sees Atal as a valuable addition.
Additionally, Besiktas has renewed its interest in the Algerian defender, with club officials working diligently to finalize the deal for Atal.
Their determination highlights the high regard in which they hold the versatile player.
The report also mentioned interest from Istanbul Basaksehir and Greek giants AEK Athens, both of which are closely monitoring Atal’s situation.
These clubs are eager to secure his services, acknowledging his impressive track record and potential to significantly enhance their defensive lines.
Atal’s market value is expected to surge due to the increasing competition among these prominent clubs.
His ability to play both defensively and offensively makes him a highly sought-after player in the transfer market.
