Hull City tie Algeria winger Bachir Belloumi to long-term deal

Hull City have secured the future of Algeria international Bachir Belloumi, with the 24-year-old agreeing a contract extension that keeps him at the club until June 2029, plus a further 12-month option.

Belloumi’s new agreement was officially confirmed by the English club this week, continuing a relationship that has developed since his move from Portugal. The winger’s progress has attracted interest from Villarreal and several other European clubs this summer, but he has chosen to remain with Hull City as he looks to continue his development in England.

His agent, Madjid Bouameur, welcomed the agreement in an interview with Maghreb-Foot.

The extension rewards a strong rise for Belloumi, who has established himself as an important member of Hull City’s squad. He played 25 matches last season and was one of the key contributors to the Tigers’ promotion to the Premier League.

Belloumi, who was born in Mascara, returned in good physical condition after suffering a serious knee injury in November 2014. Since then, he has continued to build his reputation and has made an encouraging start to life in the top flight.

His Premier League debut performances included a notable display against Manchester United, when Hull City recorded a 2-0 victory. Belloumi produced an all-round performance in that match before registering his first assist in the following fixture.

Those early displays prompted Hull City’s management to act quickly and secure the player’s long-term future. The Algeria international is currently valued at 6 million euros.

Belloumi’s annual salary in England is reported to be 426,190 euros, equivalent to 277,023,500 FCFA.

The former Farense player is now preparing for Hull City’s third match of the English league season, with Aston Villa the next opponents. The fixture will provide another opportunity for Belloumi to build on his promising introduction to Premier League football.
