Hetten FC add Nigeria midfielder Emeka Christian Eze to Saudi Arabia squad

Nigeria midfielder Emeka Christian Eze has joined Saudi Arabia’s Hetten FC from Egyptian club Harras Hodoud on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old defensive midfielder completed the move on 1 September 2026 after spending the previous two seasons with Harras Hodoud. Eze joined the Egyptian side from El Masry in August 2024, also on a free transfer.

Eze brings extensive domestic and continental experience to Hetten FC, having made 190 appearances in the Premier League, scoring three goals and providing seven assists. He has also played 50 times in the NPFL, contributing four goals and three assists.

His record includes 18 appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup, as well as matches in the CAF Champions League, Egyptian Cup, Egyptian League Cup, Championship Playoff and Relegation Playoff. Across those competitions, he has featured primarily in a holding midfield role.

Eze began his senior career with Rangers International FC, where he won the Nigerian championship in the 2015-16 season. He moved to Egypt in January 2017 to join El Nasr Tadeen, before spending the 2017-18 campaign with Entag El Harby on loan. He later returned to El Nasr Tadeen before making a permanent move to El Masry in 2018.

The midfielder then continued his career in Egypt, with his transfer to Harras Hodoud marking his second free move since leaving El Masry. His latest switch takes him to Hetten FC at a time when his recorded market value is €75,000.

Eze is listed at 1.70m and is comfortable using either foot. His arrival gives Hetten FC a player whose career has included league football in both Nigeria and Egypt, alongside experience in African club competitions.

The move also marks a new stage for Eze after two years at Harras Hodoud. His most recent recorded club appearance history includes competitions across the Egyptian domestic game and continental football, while his earlier Nigerian spell included a championship-winning campaign with Rangers International.

Eze’s free transfer to Hetten FC was registered on 1 September 2026.
