Hazem El Askar leads Ghazl El Mahalla attack as Shika starts against Pyramids

Ghazl El Mahalla manager Ahmed Khattab has named Hazem El Askar to lead his side’s attack against Pyramids in their opening-round Egyptian Premier League fixture.

Pyramids are due to visit Ghazl El Mahalla shortly, with Khattab selecting a starting line-up that includes Abdel Rahman Osama, known as “Shika”, among the team’s starters.

The decision to place El Askar at the head of the attack is the main feature of Ghazl El Mahalla’s team selection for the anticipated meeting. Shika is also included from the beginning as Ghazl El Mahalla, known as the Farmers’ Leader, prepare to face Pyramids.

Khattab has chosen Amer Amer in goal, with a four-man defence in front of him. Yahya Zakaria, Ahmed Shousha, Ahmed El Ash and Fares Nashat make up the defensive line.

The midfield consists of Abdel Rahman Osama “Shika”, Mory Toure and Moaz Abdel Salam. Abdo Yehia and Saidy Kibo join El Askar in the attacking line-up.

The match is part of the first round of the league, with Pyramids taking the role of visitors at Ghazl El Mahalla. The home side’s selection has been confirmed by Khattab ahead of the fixture, including the attacking combination of Yehia, Kibo and El Askar.

El Askar will therefore be the player tasked with leading Ghazl El Mahalla’s attack, while Shika begins in the starting team rather than being named among the substitutes. The rest of the line-up includes Amer Amer behind the defence, alongside Zakaria, Shousha, El Ash and Nashat, with Toure and Abdel Salam completing the midfield alongside Shika.

All 11 selected players have been named in their respective positions for the opening-round encounter. Pyramids’ visit provides the immediate setting for Ghazl El Mahalla’s first league match, while Khattab’s announcement confirms the side that will start the contest.
