Hassan Momodu Kashietu: Nigerian teenager seals move to FC Midtjylland academy from FC Ebedei

Nigerian midfielder Hassan Momodu Kashietu has completed a move to FC Midtjylland, with the 18-year-old set to join the Danish club’s academy from partner side FC Ebedei.

Kashietu will link up with Midtjylland’s U19 squad from next season and will wear the Superliga club’s traditional black and red colours as he begins his career in European football.

The move sees the teenager take the next step in a pathway long established between Midtjylland and FC Ebedei, their strategic partner in Nigeria, with the Danish side continuing to use the link as a key pipeline for young talent.

Ambition to reach first team

Kashietu spoke of his delight at securing the transfer and described the move as a major milestone in his life and career.

“Je suis tres heureux d’etre ici. C’est un reve qui se realise et je suis tres fiere de moi. C’est un grand projet, une etape importante, et j’ai hate de commencer,” he said.

The midfielder also made clear that his long-term ambition is to break into the first team during his time at the club.

“J’espere pouvoir jouer en equipe premiere durant mon sejour au FC Midtjylland. Je suis convaincu que j’y vivrai de tres belles experiences, que j’apprendrai beaucoup et que je progresserai tant sur le plan personnel que sportif.”

Next step in academy journey

By joining the oldest age-group side in FC Midtjylland’s academy structure, Kashietu will be working at the level just below the senior squad, aiming to impress coaches and earn opportunities higher up.

The club’s U19 team has traditionally acted as a springboard for players seeking promotion to the senior set-up, with regular exposure to high-level youth competition and a clear development pathway.

Kashietu arrives from FC Ebedei having already been identified as a player with potential to adapt to European football, and the move represents a significant chapter in his progression from domestic Nigerian football to an established European academy environment.

The Nigerian, who has already been training and playing within FC Ebedei’s system, will now look to translate that experience into performances in Denmark as he attempts to turn his stated dream of first-team football at FC Midtjylland into reality.
