Hakimi’s five-goal contribution sets new milestones in PSG win

Achraf Hakimi became the first defender to score a Ligue 1 hat-trick since 2019 as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Havre 5-1 in the ninth round of the competition.

The Morocco captain scored three times and supplied two assists, directly contributing to every Paris Saint-Germain goal in an outstanding individual display. It was the first hat-trick of his professional career and the first time he had recorded five goal contributions in a single match for either club or country.

According to Erem News, Hakimi’s performance produced four notable records.

The first was his total of five goal contributions in one game. His three goals and two assists represented an exceptional return for a player whose usual role is at full-back, while also making him responsible for the entirety of Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking output in the match.

His three goals also marked a personal breakthrough. Hakimi had never previously scored a hat-trick during his professional career, whether playing for his clubs or the Morocco national team. The achievement came as part of a commanding performance in which he combined his defensive responsibilities with a decisive attacking role.

Hakimi’s treble also ended a long wait for a defender in Ligue 1. He became the first player in that position to score three goals in a league match since April 2019, when Algeria international Youcef Atal reached the same landmark for Nice.

The Paris Saint-Germain full-back also restored a record for Moroccan players that had stood since 2016. He is the first Moroccan to score a Ligue 1 hat-trick since Sofiane Boufal achieved the feat for Lille.

The result against Le Havre therefore gave Hakimi a personal landmark, a rare statistical achievement for a defender and a place alongside two North African players who had previously reached similar milestones in the competition.

Hakimi’s display came during a match in which Paris Saint-Germain produced five goals, with the Morocco international involved in each one. His contribution extended beyond the hat-trick itself, as the two assists completed a performance that produced five direct returns in a single fixture.

Paris Saint-Germain are also listed to face Villarreal in the Champions League on 03 November 2026. Their Ligue 1 schedule includes a match against Le Havre on 08 November 2026, followed by a fixture involving Lorient.
