Erling Haaland to score against Portugal and more than 8.5 corners in the Wales-Denmark match are the two selections highlighted for 4 October by sports betting expert and Cameroonian journalist Arthur Wandji.
Portugal v Norway – 4 October, 18:45 GMT
Betting option: Erling Haaland to score (odds: 2.05)
Haaland is backed to find the net when Norway face Portugal, having already scored in the previous meeting between the teams. His goal after half-time reduced Portugal’s advantage to 2-1, taking his international tally to 65 goals.
The Manchester City forward also enters the game in strong individual form. He has scored 10 goals in his past eight competitive appearances for both club and country, making him Norway’s main attacking threat as they look to protect their position in the match.
Norway’s defence will be weakened by two absences. Torbjørn Heggem is suspended, while Julian Ryerson has left the squad because of injury. Alexander Sørloth is also unavailable.
Portugal’s attacking threat could force Norway to take greater risks, despite the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and the expected absence of Bruno Fernandes. That potential openness is another reason to expect Haaland to play a decisive role in front of goal.
Wales v Denmark – 4 October, 18:45 GMT
Betting option: more than 8.5 corners (odds: 1.64)
The statistics point towards a match with a high number of corners. Denmark have seen more than 8.5 corners in 13 of their past 15 competitive internationals.
Wales have also shown a strong attacking profile in home fixtures. They have registered at least five shots on target in five of their past seven official matches on home soil, suggesting they could contribute to the volume required for this selection to succeed.
Wales’ 2-1 victory over Norway has provided renewed momentum, while their home record remains difficult to overcome. They have suffered only one defeat in an official match after 90 minutes since June 2023.
David Brooks will miss the fixture because of injury, but his absence is not expected to significantly change the statistical profile of the game.
For Denmark, Mikkel Damsgaard remains one of the players to watch. He has been involved in three goals across the opening three matchdays of LDN, adding to the visitors’ attacking threat.
Odds may change.
