Guinea boss Paulo Duarte unveils squad for Morocco training camp and friendlies
Guinea head coach Paulo Duarte has named a 25-man squad for upcoming international friendlies against Togo national football team and Benin national football team during the March international break.
The squad announcement sees the Portuguese coach retain a familiar core of players as the West African side prepares for the two fixtures, which will both be played in Morocco later this month.
Leading the attack is striker Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund, who remains one of the most prominent figures in the Guinean national team.
Duarte is expected to rely on the forward’s experience and scoring ability as the Syli Nationale look to make the most of the international window.
The squad also features the return of several international players who have previously represented Guinea.
Among those recalled are midfielder Ilaix Moriba, defender Ibrahima Diakité, centre-back Saïdou Sow and forward Yakhouba Gnagna Barry.
Their inclusion strengthens a group largely built around players already familiar with Duarte’s setup.
Four players have also received their first call-ups to the national side. Mohamed Kaba, Abdoulaye Camara, Lamine Diaby-Fadiga and Mansour Camara have all been included as the coach introduces new options into the squad.
Guinea’s preparations will begin with a training camp starting on 22 March in Morocco. The team will then face Togo on 27 March before taking on Benin on 31 March.
