Giannelli Imbula joins AS Beauvais Oise as Villarreal track David Mokwa

Africafoot’s 6 November 2026 news feed features a return to French amateur football for Giannelli Imbula, growing interest in David Mokwa from Spain, a possible move to Qatar for Achref Abada and a new long-term contract for Sacha Banse.

At 10:31, it was confirmed that Imbula had joined AS Beauvais Oise at the age of 34. The former Olympique de Marseille, FC Porto and Stoke City midfielder has returned to the amateur game after several seasons away from professional football.

AS Beauvais Oise now compete in Regional 2 after recently suffering significant financial difficulties. Imbula, a former Congolese international, most recently took part in the Kings League before agreeing to continue his career with the Picardy club.

Earlier, at 10:18, Villarreal emerged as a possible destination for David Mokwa. The Franco-Cameroonian forward became a popular figure at Elversberg after scoring twice in a 3-0 victory over Munster to secure the club’s historic promotion to the Bundesliga.

Mokwa has continued to attract attention during the opening stages of the new championship campaign. He scored against Leverkusen and then found the net against Monchengladbach, further highlighting the qualities that have made him a target for clubs outside Germany.

According to L’Equipe, Villarreal are monitoring the striker’s performances and have been impressed by his powerful but mobile style. The Spanish club are considering making a concrete offer when the winter transfer window opens in January. Bundesliga clubs are also following the situation, as previously reported exclusively by Africafoot.

At 09:50, Achref Abada was reported to be edging closer to a move to Qatar. The Algeria international had already been linked with Egypt, but Maghreb-Foot reported that Al Shamal had also entered the race.

The Qatari club are considering a loan deal with an option to buy as they look to strengthen their defence. Journalist Samir Kaabouche said USM Alger had received a written proposal from Al Shamal for Abada, with the Algerian club’s management now examining the offer.

Zamalek and Al Ahly are also monitoring the defender’s situation in Egypt. However, Al Shamal are the only club to have formalised their interest by submitting a transfer proposal, with the offer structured as a permanent move.

Meanwhile, Sacha Banse has extended his stay with Greuther Furth. The Burkina Faso international has signed a contract running until 2029, with an option for an additional season. Greuther Furth confirmed the agreement on their official website.

The 25-year-old midfielder thanked the club’s directors for the confidence and recognition they had shown him.
