GABON: ALAIN BOGHOSSIAN WANTS TO COACH THE PANTHERS

Since the departure of Paulo Duarté last September, Gabon has been actively searching for a new coach. The Fégafoot secretariat has been receiving application files daily, with even renowned figures like Georges Leekens, the recently appointed coach of Tunisia, throwing their hats into the ring.

Adding to this list is Alain Boghossian, a French technician renowned for his tenure as an assistant coach with the French national team under Raymond Domenech and Laurent Blanc between 2008 and 2012.

Reports from Footafrica365.fr suggest that the 43-year-old former Parma midfielder is a favored candidate by the Gabonese football authorities. However, this support comes with a caveat, as Gabon remains under FIFA scrutiny despite the recent changes in leadership within Fégafoot.

Pierre-Alain Mounguengui, the newly elected head of Fégafoot, is keen on maintaining control over the appointment process for the new coach, adhering to FIFA’s principle of non-interference by political entities in sports affairs.
