FUS Rabat bring in Morocco defender Faraji Karmoune from OC Safi

Faraji Karmoune, the 29-year-old Morocco centre-back, has joined FUS Rabat from OC Safi for €129,000.

The move was completed on 3 September 2026, with Karmoune switching clubs within Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi. The defender arrives after three seasons with OC Safi, having joined the club from JS Massira on a free transfer in July 2023.

Karmoune has signed a contract with FUS Rabat that runs until 30 June 2029. The deal takes him to a club competing in the same domestic league, while also adding a defender with experience in Moroccan club football and continental competition.

He has made 66 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, scoring seven goals and providing one assist. Karmoune has also featured 14 times in the CAF Confederation Cup and made six appearances in the Moroccan Cup.

The centre-back was part of a Moroccan Cup-winning side during the 2024-25 season with Olympique Safi. That success represents the first listed major honour of his career and adds domestic cup experience to his record ahead of his move to Rabat.

Born in Laayoune on 27 February 1997, Karmoune stands 1.86 metres tall and is listed as being comfortable using either foot. His defensive role has been the mainstay of his career, with the player recorded as a centre-back throughout his senior club profile.

Before his spell at OC Safi, Karmoune spent time with JS Massira and Phosboucraa. He joined JS Massira from Phosboucraa in July 2017, also on a free transfer, before making the move to OC Safi six years later.

His arrival gives FUS Rabat a player with domestic league experience, a record of appearances in African competition and a Moroccan Cup winners’ medal. The transfer also marks the latest stage of a career built entirely within Moroccan football.

Karmoune’s move to FUS Rabat is secured through 30 June 2029.
