French outfit RC Lens reach agreement with Brighton to sign Senegal youngster Abdallah Sima
French Ligue outfit RC Lens are closing in for the acquisition of Senegal international Abdallah Sima in the current summer transfer window.
Lens are executing an aggressive effort to bolster their squad for the 2025/26 football campaign, with Sima emerging a priority target.
According to reports, Lens have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to secure the services of the fast-rising attacker.
The French outfit had accelerated their interest in the forward, after report emerged that Southampton FC are on the verge of plucking Morgan Guilavogui from the club.
The potential arrival of Sima could pave way for Guilavogui to join former Lens coach Will Still at Southampton in the English Championship.
Sima, who spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois, where he was able to experience UEFA Champions League football, is no stranger to the French league, having also played for Angers SCO on loan from Brighton.
An agreement €4.5m plus bonuses looks to have swayed the Premier League side to finally let the forward leave permanently after four consecutive loans away.
Sima is set to sign a four-year contract. A deal that will likely come too late for him to have any involvement in Lens’s Friday night fixture against his former side, Brest.
