The football club Canon, one of the most successful clubs in Cameroon, is once again facing internal turmoil. Two groups of leaders are currently in contention for control of the club. On one side, there is the Higher Council of Wise Men led by Me Olinga Jenner, and on the other, the Board of Directors headed by Pca Céline Eko. Hostilities escalated when Olinga Jenner’s team suspended Céline Eko and appointed new coaches. The committee of elders accused Eko of not convening a general assembly in her two years in office.
In response, Eko issued a press release maintaining Kisito Eloundou as the head coach. The president of the Board of Directors, currently in London, defended herself, stating that the committee of wise men has an advisory role and may have misinterpreted the club’s texts. The conflict remains unresolved, and Céline Eko is scheduled to hold a press conference in Yaoundé to address the Canon crisis.
