Arbitres

Referees and assistant referees hailing from Africa, North and Central America, and the Caribbean are set to participate in a seminar in Zurich starting from next Monday, April 7. Organized by FIFA, this seminar aims to prepare them for the upcoming World Cup scheduled to be held in Brazil from June 12 to July 13.

During the seminar, referees and assistant referees will undergo various tests including medical, physical, psychological, and technical assessments to evaluate their current fitness levels.

Several technical innovations will be introduced, including the use of video analysis to ensure uniformity and consistency in decision-making. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss different tactical approaches and exchange insights into the game’s evolution.

In addition, the officials will analyze various game scenarios with the assistance of FC Zurich’s U-21 and U-18 teams, aiming to enhance uniformity and consistency in their decisions.

This seminar follows a similar one-week event held from March 24 to 28, which brought together 17 referees and 31 assistant referees from Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
