Fenerbahce v Liverpool: Reds backed to extend perfect Champions League record

Liverpool will look to make it four wins from four in the UEFA Champions League league phase when they visit Fenerbahce on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 17:45 GMT.

The Reds are priced at 1.61 to win by Nasser Eddy, a consultant for NCI Sport and presenter of European Champions League coverage on radio Nostalgie. Fenerbahce, who have never previously faced Liverpool in an official match, are seeking their first victory in the competition.

Fenerbahce struggling for consistency

Despite a squad featuring N’Golo Kante, Romelu Lukaku, Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake and Nene Dorgeles, the Istanbul club have endured a difficult start to the campaign.

They are sixth in the Turkish Super Lig after 10 matches, with five wins, one draw and four defeats. Their Champions League record is weaker still: they have taken no wins from their opening three games.

A home draw with AS Roma initially offered encouragement, but Ismail Kartal’s side then suffered a 6-0 defeat at Aston Villa before drawing 2-2 with Slavia Prague. Fenerbahce have conceded an average of three goals per Champions League match and have won fewer corners than their opponents in each game.

Greenwood has been one of the few bright spots, with five goals and three assists in 12 appearances in all competitions this season.

Liverpool form and key player

Liverpool arrive in Istanbul without complete confidence after going two matches unbeaten in all competitions against opponents of their level, including Sunday’s home Premier League defeat by Arsenal, a direct rival in the title race.

Their European campaign has been flawless, however. Andoni Iraola’s side have won all three matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding seven. Liverpool have attempted more than 20 shots per game on average and have taken at least seven corners in every match, while also leading their opponents in that statistic each time.

Alexis Mac Allister is expected to carry significant responsibility in midfield with Dominik Szoboszlai affected by injuries in recent weeks. The Argentina international has increased his influence in the competition and scored three goals, including two in Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Villarreal.

He will face an experienced Fenerbahce midfield containing Kante and Matheo Guendouzi.

Match predictions and key odds

The recommended selections are a Liverpool win at 1.61, an exact 2-3 score at 14, and Greenwood to score at any time at 3.4.

Liverpool are also priced at 1.46 to win the corner count. More than 10.5 total corners is available at 2.17, while more than 28.5 total shots on target is priced at 1.83.

The prediction of 2-3 reflects Liverpool’s average of three goals scored per Champions League match, alongside their seven conceded. Fenerbahce’s usual four to five corners, combined with Liverpool’s minimum of seven, is expected to take the total above 10.5. Liverpool’s average of more than 20 attempts should also help push the overall shot figure beyond 28.5.

Fenerbahce SK v Liverpool FC kicks off at 17:45 GMT on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Odds may change.
