Fenerbahce open to Mohamed Salah move despite huge wage demands
Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim has confirmed the club is open to pursuing Mohamed Salah, revealing the Egyptian forward’s staggering salary demands for a potential Turkish Super League move.
“Mohamed Salah is asking for a salary of 20 million euros. With taxes, that’s 30 million euros. Salah wants a three-year contract that will cost a total of 90 million euros. If there is an urgent need, we will transfer him,” Yildirim has shared.
Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in summer 2017, has become one of the club’s greatest players, playing a starring role in their success. During his time at Liverpool, he has won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the FA Community Shield.
The forward has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, placing him third on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list. He has now officially left Liverpool as a free agent, despite having one year remaining on his contract.
Yildirim’s remarks suggest Fenerbahçe view Salah as a marquee signing, though the financial commitment required, 90 million euros total, would make the deal one of the most expensive in Turkish football history.
