FEMAFOOT backs Mali ahead of Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifier against Cape Verde

A delegation from the FEMAFOOT executive committee, led by president Mahazou dit Baba Cisse, visited the Aigles du Mali in Kabala on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, to offer encouragement ahead of their CAN 2027 qualifying campaign.

Mali will begin their campaign against Cape Verde at Stade du 26-Mars on Friday, 25 September, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00. The visit was intended to underline the support of the Malian authorities and the entire population for the national team before its opening fixture.

Baba Cisse told the players and staff that unity and solidarity would be essential as the Aigles prepare to face the challenges ahead. He called for a collective effort as Mali targets a positive start to the qualifying process.

The FEMAFOOT president also highlighted measures being taken to strengthen the staff around the national team and ensure that it is better equipped to meet international standards.
