Faouzi Benzarti, the Tunisian coach of the Moroccan club Wydad, has disclosed his future with the Red Team following their exit from the African Champions League football competition at the group stage.
Expressing profound regret after Wydad’s elimination from the Champions League group stage despite their victory over Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas, the Tunisian coach conveyed his dismay.
Benzarti, speaking to “beIN SPORTS” channel, remarked that Wydad is not accustomed to exiting at the group stage. Concerning his future with the club, he affirmed his respect for Wydad Athletic Club and its fans, deeming it unreasonable to abandon them in such a precarious situation.
“It is essential to stand by the club in both good and bad times,” he added.
On the other hand, Moroccan media outlets have reported that Benzarti will depart from the club in the near future as he is no longer part of the team’s new project.
Wydad bid farewell to the African Champions League competition at the group stage despite their victory against Ivorian visitors ASEC Mimosas with a 1-0 scoreline last Saturday, marking the sixth round of matches.
