Fatal crossing ends promising career of Moroccan player Faten Ben Omar Al-Azizi

Moroccan footballer Faten Ben Omar Al-Azizi has died while attempting to reach the Spanish-administered city of Ceuta, prompting widespread mourning across the country’s sporting community.

The player, who represented Morocco Athletic Tangier, died in what has been described as a tragic incident during the attempted crossing. Her death has caused deep shock in Tangier, where she was known both as a promising footballer and as a member of the local community.
