Faouzi Abdoul Mutalib: Morocco midfielder leaves Ittihad Tanger after contract expiry

Morocco defensive midfielder Faouzi Abdoul Mutalib has left Ittihad Tanger and become a free agent after reaching the end of his deal with the Botola Pro Inwi club. The 33-year-old, born in Casablanca, is now without a club following his departure on 22 July 2026.

Abdoul Mutalib had been a mainstay in Ittihad Tanger’s midfield since joining from CR Bernoussi in 2019 on a free transfer. During his time with the Tangier side he established himself in the holding role, operating in front of the back line and offering experience in Morocco’s top flight.

Across his Botola Pro Inwi career, Abdoul Mutalib has made 126 league appearances, scoring eight goals and providing six assists, amassing more than 8,000 minutes of top-flight football. He has also featured in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine, where he added a further goal and assist to his record.

Before moving to Ittihad Tanger, the midfielder had progressed through the domestic game with spells at Olympique Sihame and CR Bernoussi, building a reputation as a dependable presence in the centre of the pitch. His current market value is listed at €300,000.

Abdoul Mutalib’s exit from Ittihad Tanger brings a seven-year run in top-tier Moroccan football with his last two clubs to a close, with the experienced midfielder now officially unattached following the completion of his contract.
