Former Mamelodi Sundowns Hlompho Kekana has shared experience during his stint with the club.
Kekana, who contributed to the CAF Champions League victory in 2016, stated that for Sundowns, every match is like a final, urging the club to learn from their mistakes in order to succeed this campaign.
Sundowns succumbed to defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the South African Cup competition semifinals at the weekend. But Kekana believes the loss won’t impact the continental tournament.
“When you play for Sundowns, every match is like a cup final. Fortunately, when you play for this team, you don’t have a week off without football. So for the players, this is good because after a setback, you can redeem yourself within a few days.
I believe they have every chance to continue this good season because losing one match in the situation we found ourselves, looking back, I think there won’t be many corrections needed.
We lost the game due to our mistakes, and on some days, we don’t make those mistakes. We must take this, put it in our back pocket, and when we make adjustments, we will know what it is,” Kekana stated in the Pitchside Podcast.
