Etoile Sportive du Sahel sign Tunisia defender Azmi Ghouma from Farco
Etoile Sportive du Sahel have completed the signing of Tunisia defender Azmi Ghouma from Farco on a two-year contract.
The Tunisian club announced the deal on Friday, 31 July 2026, confirming that the 28-year-old has agreed to return to the Tunisian league after ending his spell in Egypt.
Ghouma joins Etoile Sportive du Sahel after spending much of his recent career with Farco. He initially moved to the Alexandria-based club in the summer of 2021, having begun his professional career with Sfaxien.
His time at Farco was interrupted by a serious knee injury, with the defender suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He left the club in the summer of 2025 after sustaining the injury.
Farco brought Ghouma back into their squad during the following season, but the club’s relegation brought his career in Egypt to an end. The defender subsequently decided to return to Tunisia, with Etoile Sportive du Sahel securing his services on a deal running for two seasons.
Ghouma made 110 appearances for Farco during his time with the club. He scored one goal and provided four assists in those matches.
The move represents a return to Tunisia for Ghouma after his experience in Egyptian football. He will now continue his career with Etoile Sportive du Sahel, who have formally completed the agreement announced on Friday.
